WVC to host ‘Total Eclipse of the Herd: An Alpaca Encounter’
Plan on coming to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods from 1-4 p.m., on Sunday, April 7, for the upcoming “Total Eclipse of the Herd: An Alpaca Encounter!”
The event, hosted by White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC), a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, will take place one day before the area community experiences a total solar eclipse.
Join “Farmer” Tara Elmore and the White Violet Center staff as they talk about the alpacas and chickens and how they might react during the eclipse.
“Everyone can come out, meet the animals and walk around the farm,” WVC Operations Director Mary Riley said. “You will all be able to get up close to the chickens and the alpacas.”
“People are always intrigued and delighted to get to know the alpacas better,” Elmore said. “I feel very fortunate to be able to spend time educating others about the alpacas. They have a quiet way of drawing you in with their soulful eyes.”
Spend the afternoon with the alpacas and chickens and get up close to the animals while staff explain what Monday, April 8, may be like for our furry and feathered friends.
Cost is $6 to attend.
