Can you hear me now?

You might remember the famous commercial where someone asks repeatedly, “Can you hear me now?” as they tried to connect with someone using their cell phone. Technology, whether we embrace it or not, is here to stay.

The past year has forced the Sisters of Providence to rethink the way we connect with people. And despite some of the struggles, we found that we really enjoyed connecting with people virtually. Welcoming someone from across the country who would never have been able to visit our beloved Saint Mary-of-the-Woods has been very rewarding. So, as excited as we are to welcome people back in person, we want to continue to offer video and livestream options to share our mission of Providence with all.

Although the sisters are quite skilled at making things last, this past year it was evident that in order to press forward in this exciting, virtual world we will need to invest in new technology such as cameras, microphones, web cameras, laptops and tablets. This investment will help us share the mission. Through a generous donation of a donor, we have begun to provide needed equipment for sisters to have the technology they need, but we will need even more. Upgraded equipment for sisters will be especially important as we get ready for our annual summer gathering of the Providence Community which will be virtual.

Can you help us raise $35,000 needed to upgrade our technology?

If you would like to help the Sisters of Providence connect with the world, please consider contributing to this project. You can donate online at Donate.SistersofProvidence.org. Please note “for technology” so we know where you would like your gift applied.
