Jesus Christ is risen! Alleluia!

O God, we pray for what needs to rise in us.

May stillness rise in us.

The stillness of Mary of Magdala

who came to the tomb while it was dark

and heard the voice within telling her

to spread the word.

May gratitude rise in us.

The gratitude of Thomas

who came to believe

and uttered his prayer for all ages,

“My Lord and my God!”

May joy rise in us.

The joy of the disciples

on their way to Emmaus

who recognized him in bread broken

and Scriptures fulfilled.

May peace rise in us.

The peace lavished on the disciples

when receiving the Holy Spirit and

being sent to spread forgiveness

and life in Jesus’ name.

May love rise in us.

The love of the Good Shepherd

who knows each of us by name,

who calls us, who leads us

in the ways of love and compassion.

Amen. Alleluia!
