Nine days of prayer with Mary, Queen of the Home

For many years Sister Mary Rita Griffin (RIP) took care of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence currently located in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. She said, “My ministry is sharing spirituality with people especially through Our Lady of Providence related to family, prayer and spirituality. An important part of this ministry is responding to prayer requests through the internet with petitions coming not only from the United States but from countries throughout the world.” Her love and dedication to her ministry was a joy to behold. Sister Mary Rita Griffin died on March 6, 2020.
The Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence is Saturday, Nov. 14. Each year Sister Mary Rita encouraged all to join the Sisters of Providence for nine days of prayer leading up to that special day. Although we are not able to have a Mass due to COVID restrictions, we invite you to pray this novena beginning today. Even though she has departed this Earth, we know Sister Mary Rita will be praying alongside us from her new heavenly home. In her own words, “By praying the Novena, we believe you will find yourself more at peace with yourself, your work life, your family life, among your friends and most especially, your God life.”
Day 1

Our Lady of Providence,
Mother of the Church, pray for our Holy Father,
Pope Francis, our bishops and all other clergy, religious,
the laity and for vocations to the priesthood or
religious life.
After each daily intention , pray the Novena Prayer:
Remember, O most faithful Lady of Providence,
that you have been given to us by your Son to be our mother.
We entrust to you our labors; bless them.
We commend to you our needs; supply them.
Show for us the same concern you manifested at Cana,
for we trust that whatever you ask of your Son will be done.
Pray for us on our pilgrimage that we may share
the faith and hope that marked your life.
Full of confidence in your power before God,
we place ourselves, our loved ones and all our petitions
in your providential care. Amen.
