Recurring gifts keep giving

Recurring gifts are a convenient way to support a charity. Currently 53 donors make recurring gifts to the Sisters of Providence. Most do so monthly, but others choose to give quarterly, semi-annually or annually. A donor sets up their credit card recurring gift with the Mission Advancement office to be made automatically according to their preferred schedule.
Convenience is only one reason for recurring gifts. Some donors like the idea of turning a small donation into a larger one without straining to make it happen. Others realize that recurring gifts benefit the charity by assuring a steady stream of dollars.
Doug Dreher has been a monthly giver to the Sisters of Providence for more than two years.
Doug and his family have been connected to the Sisters from Doug’s early years in Terre Haute where he was taught Art and Speech Therapy at Schulte High School. He credits the sisters for his faith, his education and his dedication to family.
Doug considers the Church of the Immaculate Conception his home church.“The sisters are family,” he says and he has called upon them in time of need.
Doug recently set up his recurring monthly gift so that he will not forget to do it and because it’s easy. But more than that, Doug believes in the work of the Sisters of Providence. Doug is also proud that his firm, Old National Insurance, is able to financially sponsor many of the sister’s special events.
“My reason for monthly donations is appreciation for the strong educational role nuns have played in my life and that they deserve to be cared for lovingly at the end of their lives. I wish through my monthly contribution to help insure that my aunt, Sister Joan Mary Schaefer, is so treated,” he said It’s about being “family.” So much so that he has included a gift in his will to benefit the sisters after his death.
