Biography
Sister Terese Marie was born Marie Florence Havlik on May 8, 1929, in Chicago. She died on July 9, 2018. She was 89 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 70 years.
Sister Terese Marie entered the Congregation on February 2, 1948, professing first and final vows on August 15, 1950 and 1955, respectively.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in history and a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in guidance counseling.
Sister Terese Marie began her teaching ministry in 1950 at St. Philip Neri. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in California and Illinois, specializing in religion and mathematics. In 2013, she returned to the Woods where she began a ministry of prayer.
Sister Terese Marie loved teaching students, inside and outside of the classroom.
