Biography

Sister Rosalie, formerly Sister James Clare, was a Sister of Providence 47 years. She passed away on Aug. 7, 2003.

Sister Rosalie was born in 1938 in Terre Haute. She attended St. Patrick’s School in Terre Haute and graduated from Terre Haute Schulte High School.

She entered the Congregation in July 1956, professing first vows in 1959 and final vows in 1964.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and had a master’s degree in education from Indiana State University.

Sister Rosalie ministered as a teacher in schools in California, Illinois and Indiana. For almost 18 years, she ministered at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove as chaplain and spiritual care services.
