Biography
Sister Norene, formerly Sister Huei-Ru, is a native of Taiwan. Currently, she is the Director of Novices for the Congregation. Previously, she ministered as Dean of Student Affairs/Assistant Professor in the Departments of Social Work and Child Welfare at Providence University in Taiwan.
Sister Norene entered the Congregation in 1982, professing first vows in 1985 and final vows in 1990.
She graduated from Providence College in Taiwan with a bachelor’s degree in western language literature. In addition, Sister Norene has a master’s degree in pastoral counseling from Loyola College in Maryland, and a Ph.D. in guidance and counseling psychology from Indiana State University.
Of her ministries, Sister Norene was the Assistant Director of the Catholic Students Association at Providence College in Taiwan from 1985-1989. She also ministered as the Director of Formation at the Mother Marie Gratia Spiritual Center in Taiwan and the Director of Providence Holistic Family Services at the center from 1993-1997. In 2008, she returned to Providence University in Taiwan to minister as an assistant professor in the Departments of Social Work and Child Welfare, also becoming Dean of Student Affairs in 2013.
