Biography
Sister Michaela is a native of Melrose, Massachusetts. She passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. She was 94 years and had been a Sister of Providence for 75 years.
Sister Michaela entered the Congregation on July 16, 1943. She professed final vows on January 23, 1951.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in English. She also has a master’s degree in English from the University of Notre Dame.
Sister Michaela has ministered as a teacher, classes principal, campus director and facilities manager. Sister Michaela was also Principal at Immaculata Preparatory in Washington, D.C., from 1984 to 1986.
