Biography
Sister Mary, formerly Sister David Mary, is a native of Indianapolis. Currently she ministers in health care, Congregation and outreach ministries at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.. Prior to that, she ministered as a volunteer GED tutor in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area.
Sister Mary entered the Congregation in June 1960 after graduating from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She professed first and final vows on August 15, 1964 and 1969, respectively.
Of her ministries, Sister Mary has taught at all grade levels, but mainly junior high school mathematics. She taught at Indianapolis Public Schools, Saint Mary’s Village Parish at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, and at schools in Lafayette and Loogootee in Indiana, and in Cincinnati.
She has also ministered as a Director of Religious Education in Linton, Bloomfield and Jasonville, all in Indiana, and as a director of girls’ and summer camps in Cincinnati and at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Mary said she enjoys watching Notre Dame athletics and has climbed Mt. Sinai twice. She added her favorite musical artist is Neil Diamond.
