Biography
Sister Mary Michael was born Lucille Frances on Nov. 19, 1918. She died on July 8, 2017. She was 98 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 81 years.
Sister Mary Michael entered the Congregation on July 16, 1936. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1939 and 1945, respectively.
Sister Mary Michael ministered as a teacher for 11 years in schools in Indiana and Illinois. But in 1950, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science, and in 1953, she began a ministry as a community pharmacist for 37 years. She officially retired to a ministry of prayer in 2004.
She always said that her favorite place to be was in the outdoors.
