Biography
Sister Mary Helen was born on Feb. 3, 1921. She died on March 29, 2004. She was 83 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 61 years.
Sister Mary Helen entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1943. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1945 and 1950, respectively.
Her teaching ministry began at St. Mary Carmelite, Joliet, Ill., in 1945. She ministered at other schools in Illinois, as well as schools in Indiana, and Washington, D.C. She returned to the Woods in 1975 and ministered in the Business Office. She then began a ministry as the dean of attendance at St. Genevieve High School, Panorama City, Calif., before returning to the Woods I 1989 to serve as an administrative assistant. She officially retired in 1994.
Sister Mary Helen was known as a perfectionist.
