Biography
Sister Marie Alexis is a native of Loogootee, Indiana. Her final ministry was in prayer at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Marie Alexis entered the Congregation on February 2, 1946. She professed final vows on August 15, 1953.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education and also earned a master’s degree in education from Marquette University.
Of her ministries, Sister Marie Alexis taught at schools in Indiana, Illinois and Washington, D.C. In addition, she ministered as principal at Holy Spirit, St. Simon and Immaculate Heart, all in Indianapolis, and as principal at Precious Blood in Jasper.
