Biography

Sister Jeneen Howard, better known as Sister Jenny, was born on August 4, 1952.

She entered the Congregation on August 22, 1983, and has been a Sister of Providence for 34 years. She is a native of Indianapolis.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned a master’s degree in biology from Ball State University. She also has a master’s degree in guidance counseling in secondary schools from Northeastern Illinois University.

Currently, Sister Jenny ministers as the Congregation Leader for Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters in Huntington, Indiana, and part-time at Providence Housing Corp., located in West Terre Haute. Prior to that, she ministered on the Congregation’s Leadership Team and as Vocations Director. She has also ministered as a teacher at North Central High School in Indianapolis, as well as Providence-St. Mel School in Chicago and Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. Sister Jenny also ministered on the Congregation’s Leadership Team from 1996 to 2001.

She is known to be a fan of Simon and Garfunkel.
