Biography

Sister Jeanette Marie was born on May 15, 1935, in Evanston, Illinois, but called Wilmette, Illinois, home.

She entered the Congregation on February 2, 1953, professing first and final vows on August 15, 1955 and 1960, respectively.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She also has a master’s degree in religious studies from Mundelein College, a Master’s of Divinity from Catholic Theological Union, and a doctorate of ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary.

Of her ministries, Sister Jeanette Marie served as a teacher for 21 years, and was also involved in parish pastoral ministry for seven. In addition, she ministered in the Archdiocese of Chicago Office on Catechetical Ministry for five years and was a team member of the North American Forum for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for 25 years. Sister Jeanette Marie also was a faculty member in the Department of Word and Worship at Catholic Theological Union for 25 years and was the director of the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies at Catholic Theological Union for 12 years. She also ministered with the Association of Professional Partnership with Lithuanian Education (A.P.P.L.E.) for 20 years.

Currently, she serves in residential services and health care ministries at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Prior to that, she ministered as the Vocation Office Coordinator for the Congregation.

Sister Jeanette Marie loves animals, adding she has “a sweet little cat” named Zoey.
