Biography

Sister Grace was born Mary Elizabeth on Feb. 20, 1914. She died on Sept. 1, 2010. She was 96 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 81 years.

Sister Grace entered the Congregation on Aug. 20, 1929. She professed first vows on Jan. 23, 1932, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1937.

She began her teaching ministry in 1932 at Our Lady of Mercy, Chicago. She taught at other schools in Chicago, as well as 17 years in Dunblane, Washington, D.C., which was a boarding school. She taught at other schools in New Hampshire and Indiana. She returned to the Woods in the 1970s but began a ministry in health care.

Sister Grace grew up in a boarding school.
