Child’s prayer heading into school

school-bus

The following is a prayer from a child’s perspective.

Dear God,

I’m a little sad tonight. I just looked at the calendar and it told me it is August.

Do you know what that means? You probably don’t, because You don’t have to go to school. You know everything! Wish I did!

For me, August means I will go back to classes, books and homework. Summer is over! No more swimming or ball games in the park.

Sad as it is to think about, I know that when the day is here, I will put on my backpack, get on the bus and be happy to see all my friends again.

Thank you for the summer, AND thank you for the gift of learning!

I know You will be with me. Together we will have a good year.
