Reading Retreat
February 2, 2024 at 6:30 pm – February 4, 2024 at 11:00 am EST
Join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, for the upcoming “Reading Retreat,” scheduled to begin on Friday, February 2, and conclude on Sunday, February 4, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
People are asking questions right now about faith. For example, “Is God personal?” “Does God intervene in the world?”

Behind these question often lurks a bigger and even more frightening one: “Can I remain a Christian believer?”
During the retreat, participants will read Brian McLaren’s recent book, “Do I Stay Christian?” You will be asked to read the first chapter before coming and all will read and discuss pertinent parts of the rest of the book together.
McLaren openly asks the questions many Christians are asking themselves in private but are afraid to ask in public.
Rarely do you get a chance to relax and have time to read with a group of people seeking similar interests.
All attendees will stay at the Woodhaven Guest and Retreat. Cost to attend the retreat is $275, which includes lodging, snacks and meals. Participants are asked to order their own copy of the book.
The retreat begins at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 2, and concludes at 11 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 4. There is a limit of nine participants.
For more information regarding the retreat, call 812-535-2952 or email provctr@spsmw.org.
