As Sisters of Providence, we have a moral responsibility to use our collective voice to uplift Gospel values, embody compassion and provide hope to those who are being silenced. On June 24 we are co-sponsoring an event in Washington, D.C., with over 30 congregations of women religious, where we will engage in prayer and public witness for immigrants and a just economy. We are also hosting an “echo event” being held outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception for those unable to attend in Washington, D.C., but feel compelled to stand and support those without a voice.
People of all faiths are invited to unite with the Sisters of Providence in compassion, empathy and understanding for this special event. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own signs of solidarity and peace to lift the voices of immigrants and the disenfranchised. Come make a difference in this world as we continue our mission of love, mercy and justice!
This event will take place on Tuesday, June 24 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception, come rain or shine. In case of rain, we are prepared to move into the lobby of O’Shaugnessy, at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center. Join us for community and positive change.
