Edwardine was an excellent example of ‘aging gracefully’

Laura had so many gifts. She was artistic and creative; she was thoughtful and intuitive; she was intelligent and capable in so many areas; she was very giving and forgiving.

In 1997, I came home to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, living in Owens and ministering in residential services and shopping for the personal needs of the sisters residing in health care.

In her eyes, her ministry was to make others happy

She was my darling; she just made everybody happy with her joyful spirit

Sister Jean Ann was truly a pearl of great price. One of our elderly sisters said Jean Ann spreads happiness and cheer wherever she is.

You shine with the stars you always loved and knew.

“She was never Sister Bill to me. I knew her as Miss Eyke when she taught Chemistry at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in the early 1950s.”

“Betty” was a passionate person and this was evidenced in her compassion for the elderly and the lonely.

“She was able to feel with those who were struggling with health issues, with emotional challenges, with loss or with life’s disappointments.”

“She was more focused on children than anyone you’d ever meet in this life.”

Sister Luke Crawford died Friday, April 25, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
