Sister Lisa Stallings

Biography

Sister Lisa Stallings is a native of Evansville. She currently ministers as the Congregation’s Coordinator of Liturgy.

During the Sisters of Providence 41st General Chapter in 2026, Sister Lisa was elected as Vicar for 2026-31. She will officially be installed into the position during a Eucharistic Liturgy on Saturday, September 5, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Sister Lisa entered the Congregation on August 23, 1975. She professed perpetual vows on August 25, 1984.

She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in English and has a master’s degree in English from Indiana University. In addition, she has a master’s degree in Church music from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer and a master’s of science in theology from Saint Meinrad School of Theology.

Sister Lisa ministered as a teacher at Our Lady of Providence in Clarksville from 1977-80 and again in 1982 before teaching at Providence-St. Mel in Chicago from 1981-88.

Her other ministries include: Director of Music at St. Bernadette Parish in Evergreen Park, Ill. (1989-90); Director of Music at St. William Parish in Chicago (1990-94); Director of Liturgy at St. James Parish in Elizabethtown, Ky. (1994-98); Assistant Coordinator of Liturgy at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (1998); Director of Worship at Cathedral of the Assumption in Louisville, Ky. (1998-2009); Coordinator of Liturgical Music for the Sisters of Providence (2009-11); Vicar/General Treasurer for the Sisters of Providence (2011-22); and Coordinator of Liturgy/Volunteer for Connecting Link (2022-23).
