Dear Friends in Providence,
Had you been with the women on Easter morning and found the tomb of Christ empty, would you have dared to shake with joy? Joy — the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright because the promises of God are fulfilled in Jesus the Christ.
And did not those women become ambassadors of joy, spreading the good news to the other followers of Jesus and, ultimately, to the ends of Earth? They allowed the empty tomb to stand forever as a symbol that gloom and darkness do NOT have the last word.
As Sisters of Providence, as people of Providence, we venture to join our lives to that great story of discipleship. In so many ways through your support and encouragement, you stand at our side as we seek to share the hope of the empty tomb, as we respond to the call to be God’s Providence, as we strive to be the action of love, mercy and justice at work in a world in need of Easter light. Thank you!
Together in Providence, may we continue to support each other’s efforts to end the gloom and darkness. May YOU shake with joy this Easter. May YOU be an ambassador of that joy!
Gratefully in that Providence which is the source of our joy,
Sister Dawn Tomaszewski, SP
General Superior

Thanks for your prayers. I have had you on my mind through this mess. There is a positive part to it I am seeing. It has slowed us down and made us take stock of the great gifts we have been given in our lives.
Prayer has become a way of our lives as we move forward. Or anyway, It has become more a part of my own daily life. Appreciation for those around us and for their gifts moves to the forefront.. Who ever thought we would have to think about what time it is best to go shopping or how safe it is to just say hello to those around us. Or that we could not be with a loved one in the hospital or at death. Or even support one another at a funeral.. There have been some treasured moments, though. My funniest encounter was the Saturday before Easter when on a long walk around the block I came upon a very large man dressed as a bunny. He was with his family. Wife pulling a wagon, one child in the wagon dressed as a little bunny and the other walking, Wife looket up at me and smiled saying, “you never know what you will see on the streets these days” I laughed aloud and thought of the love and joy exuded by that small group. Our church is using facebook to send the Mass and say the rosary each day. EWTN has become a treasure.
