You are why we are here
As Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods,
we serve God's people through ministries focusing on environmental and social justice, care and advocacy for people in need, education, health care and spiritual growth.
How we serve
You will find us serving in a variety of ministries, using our gifts and talents to help others and sharing the Gospel message.
Environmental & social justice
God calls us to love and serve all of creation - from the smallest plant life to people who are hurting and in need of basic human services.
Spirituality & prayer
Living deeply and intentionally with our God is the root of who we are. Let us support you through prayer and inspiration.
White Violet Center for Eco-Justice
You'll find encouragement for living more sustainably through this ministry, while learning more about alpacas, organic food and other educational opportunities.
We hope to share with you our belief in, and dependence upon Providence, which is another name for God's loving care in our lives and in the world.
We’re a Roman Catholic congregation of women religious founded by a strong woman, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. She responded to the needs of her time based on her strong faith in God and the Gospel message.
We continue her mission today.
