Biography
Sister Thomasine was born Margaret Griffin on Aug. 30, 1925. She died on Oct. 23, 2010. She was 85 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 68 years.
Sister Thomasine entered the Congregation on July 20, 1942. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1945 and 1950, respectively.
Her teaching ministry began in 1945 at Immaculate Conception, Norwood Park, Ill. She ministered at schools in Chicago, Indiana, Massachusetts and Texas. While ministering on the east Coast, Sister Thomasine served as first councilor and provincial at St. Raphael Provincial House, Fall River, Mass. She returned to the Woods in 2000 and volunteered in the Providence Co-op.
Sister Thomasine enjoyed telling stories to the other sisters in the Congregation.
