Biography

Sister Mary Josita Ryan, formerly Sister Francis Josephine, was a Sister of Providence for 65 years.

She was born on March 11, 1920, in Malden, Massachusetts, and passed away on August 17, 2003, in Terre Haute.

She entered the Congregation on July 21, 1938. Sister Mary Josita professed first vows on January 15, 1941, and final vows on August 15, 1946.

She had ministered as a teacher and principal for close to 30 years in schools located in Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She also ministered for 15 years in business administration.
