Biography

Sister Sheila, formerly Sister Marie Sheila, was born in 1926. She died on April 1, 2017. She was 90 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 74 years.

Sister Sheila entered the Congregation in 1943. She professed her final vows in 1950.

Sister Sheila ministered as a teacher and principal in schools in Indiana, Illinois, New Hampshire and California. In 1999, she began a ministry at Providence Self-Sufficiency Ministries in New Albany, and in 2002, she returned to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to minister in residential services.

She was known as a quiet soul.
