Biography
Sister Rose Michele was born Anna Marie on April 29, 1928. She died on Dec. 4, 2004. She was 76 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 57 years.
Sister Rose Michele entered the Congregation on July 22, 1947. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1950 and 1955, respectively.
Sister Rose Michele began ministry as a teacher in 1950. She spent many years ministering in education in Illinois as a teacher and principal, and from 1975 to 1980, she ministered as the associate superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Peoria, Ill. Then, from 1980 to 1992, she ministered in Taiwan. She returned to the Woods in 1992.
It was said of her former art students that Sister Rose Michele could create “something out of nothing.”
