Biography
Sister Rose Louise was born Agnes Marie Schafer on June 8, 1917. She died on Sept. 5, 2008. She was 91 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 74 years.
Sister Rose Louise entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1934. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1936, and final vows on Jan. 23, 1942.
Her teaching ministry began in 1936 at St. Leo, Chicago. She ministered at other schools in Illinois, as well as classrooms in Indiana and North Carolina. She also ministered as a director of religious education and receptionist at Providence Retirement Home, located in New Albany, Indiana. She returned home to the Woods in 1990.
Sister Rose Louise was famous for her fudge, divinity and date bars.
