Biography
Sister Maureen Cecile was born Dorothy Evelyn Palmer on March 20, 1918. She died on July 18, 2005. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 69 years.
Sister Maureen Cecile entered the Congregation on Jan. 11, 1936. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1938 and 1944, respectively.
She began her teaching ministry in 1938 as a music teacher at St. Rose, Chelsea, Mass. She taught at schools in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, New Hampshire, Missouri and other schools in Massachusetts. In 1986, she officially retired from teaching and came home to the Woods to serve as a volunteer in various ministries.
Sister Maureen Cecile was known to be a lover of chocolate in any form.
