Biography
Sister Mary Concetta was born Maria Asuncion on Aug. 27, 1937. She died on Nov. 15, 2016. She was 79 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 36 years.
Initially, Sister Mary Concetta entered in a Benedictine Community in the Philippines in 1958, but came to the United States in 1960 and entered the Benedictines of Saint Gertrude Priory in Ridgeley, Maryland. She met Sister Virginia Marie Cashion (RIP) in Arizona and began the transfer process to become a Sister of Providence I 1976.
Sister Mary Concetta ministered as a teacher of administrator at elementary and high schools in California from 1980 to 2013. She also ministered in Taiwan. Sister Mary Concetta returned to the Motherhouse in 2013.
She was known to be a big fan of the game show Jeopardy.
