Biography
Sister Mary Cecile was born in Chicago. She had five older siblings and one younger sibling.
She graduated from Providence High School and entered the Congregation in February 1950.
She professed first vows in 1952 and final vows in 1957.
Sister Mary Cecile earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and also had a master’s degree in music education from Indiana State University.
She taught for 39 years in schools in Indiana, Illinois, California and Maryland. From 1970-80, she taught at St. Andrew in Chicago, and then taught at St. Agnes in Chicago from 1980-87.
Her oldest sister, Germaine, was also a Sister of Providence.
It has been said that Sister Mary Cecile liked to laugh and make others laugh.
