Biography
Sister Marie was born Eleanor Marie Wolf on March 20, 1917. She died on Dec. 2, 2004. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 69 years.
Sister Marie began her teaching ministry at St. John the Baptist, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1937. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois. In 1976, she entered a ministry as a pastoral associate at St. Joseph Parish, Indianapolis. For the next two decades, she continued this ministry at St. John, St. Joan of Arc and St. Christopher, all in Indianapolis. She returned home to the Woods in 1999.
When she was in her 70s, she took a hot-air balloon ride.
