Biography
Sister Marie Benson, formerly Sister Marie Ralph, was born Winifred Mary on July 8, 1921. She died on Dec. 6, 2009. She was 88 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 70 years.
Sister Marie entered the Congregation on Jan. 5, 1939. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1941 and 1947, respectively.
She began her teaching ministry in music in 1941. Following 11 years of teaching, she ministered for 28 years as a teacher and principal. She also ministered for eight years as a registrar at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. She came home to the Woods in 2004.
Upon returning home to the Woods, Sister Marie quietly lived out the remainder of her years.
