Biography
Sister Marie Agatha was born Agatha Clare Vonderheide on April 24, 1921. She died on March 15, 2014. She was 92 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 73 years.
Sister Marie Agatha entered the Congregation in July 1940.
Sister Marie Agatha ministered as a teacher at schools in Illinois, Washington, D.C., Indiana, Louisiana and as a principal at John F. Kennedy High School in Manchester, Missouri. She also served as Dean of Women at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, as well as ministering as president of Immaculata College for two years.
Prior to entering the Congregation, Sister Marie Agatha worked in an office of a downtown department store in Chicago.
