Biography

Sister Margaret, formerly Sister Joseph Andre, was born Margaret Julia Sullivan on March 14, 1923. She died on Feb. 10, 2008. She was 84 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 65 years.

Sister Margaret entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1943. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1945 and 1950, respectively.

She ministered for more than 50 years in education, beginning in 1945 at St. Mary, Richmond, Indiana. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois, Texas and Florida. She also ministered at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Her favorite missions were that of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Paul C. Schulte High School.
