Biography
Sister Louise, formerly Sister Jerome, was born Louise Agnes Leary on Dec. 14, 1919. She died on Jan. 2, 2006. She was 86 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 66 years.
Sister Louise entered the Congregation on July 20, 1939. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1942 and 1948, respectively.
She began her teaching ministry in 1942 at St. Therese, Wilson, N.C. She also taught at schools in Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. After close to 40 years of teaching, Sister Louise began a ministry of providing care and service for the elderly and homebound in Malden, Mass. She retired from the ministry in 1992 and came home to the Woods in 2003.
Sister Louise was known for her hearty chuckle.
