Biography
Sister Joseph Patrice was born Patricia Shea on Oct. 18, 1922. She died on Sept. 4, 2007. She was 84 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 66 years.
Sister Joseph Patrice entered the Congregation on Jan. 5, 1941. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1943, and final vows on Jan. 23, 1949.
Her teaching ministry of 47 years began in 1943 at Holy Trinity, New Albany, Indiana. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Indiana, Illinois and California. She also ministered as a retreat hostess at the Marywood Retreat Center, Diocese of Orange, California. She returned home to the Woods in 2005.
Sister Joseph Patrice was a fan of the University of Notre Dame, known to having loved “Everything Irish.”
