Biography
Sister Joan, formerly Sister Gregory Ann, was born Joan Elizabeth Tekulve on Nov. 5, 1929. She died on Jan. 19, 2006. She was 76 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 57 years.
Sister Joan entered the Congregation on Feb. 14, 1948. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1950 and 1955, respectively.
She began her teaching ministry in 1950 at St. Ann, Washington, D.C. She also taught at schools in Illinois and Indiana. She also spent one year at Immaculata College in Washington, D.C. In 1970, Sister Joan ministered in the business office at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, a ministry she continued at John F. Kennedy High School, Manchester, Missouri, from 1974 to 1977.
From 1989 to 1996, she ministered as the director of the Gerontology Program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
