Biography
Sister Joan was a native of Columbus, Ohio. Her final ministry was in prayer at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Joan, formerly Sister Ignatius, entered the Congregation on July 22, 1947 and professed final vows on January 23, 1955.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in music. She also earned a master’s degree in voice from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
She’s was a teacher in Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, California, Washington, D.C. and also ministered as a sacristan and a musician at the motherhouse in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
