Sister Francis Eugene entered the Congregation on Jan. 8, 1938. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1940 and 1946, respectively.
Sister Francis Eugene ministered primarily as a teacher in schools in Illinois, Oklahoma, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and California, where she taught for 27 years. She returned to Indiana in 1994, ministering as the coordinator for St. Rose Academy alumnae in Vincennes before turning to the Woods in 1997.
When she returned to the Woods, it was said her schedule gave her flexibility to be with her family, to crochet, to pray and watch the Chicago Cubs.
