Biography
Sister Francis was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla. She died March 2, 2020 at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
Sister Francis, formerly Sister Francis Bernard, entered the Congregation on Sept. 8, 1942 and professed final vows on Aug. 15, 1950.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She also earned a master’s degree in mathematics from Indiana State University and a master’s of library science from the University of Oklahoma.
Sister Francis supported the new nursing program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College by donating the medical journals and magazines she subscribed to and was granted ‘Friend of Nursing’ award from the college in 2015.
