Biography
Sister Elizabeth, formerly Sister Ellen Ann, was born on March 30, 1933. She died on May 30, 2014. She was 81 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 62 years.
Sister Elizabeth entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1952.
She ministered as a teacher for more than 20 years at schools in Illinois, Maryland, Missouri and Indiana. She changed focus to pastoral ministry. During her time at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the first woman chaplain in long-term care in Indiana.
Sister Elizabeth was an avid follower of the Kentucky Derby and of Notre Dame football. She love d to travel and was known in the Congregation as “The Flying Nun.”
