Biography
Sister Elizabeth Clare was born on June 9, 1925. She died on Aug. 7, 2004. She was 79 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 60 years.
Sister Elizabeth entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1944. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1946 and 1951, respectively.
Her teaching ministry began in 1946 at St. John the Baptist, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois and Los Angeles. In 1970, she ministered for one year in the school for the physically challenged at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods before spending two years at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Terre Haute, Indiana. She also ministered for 10 years in the Congregation’s Mission Advancement office.
She was known for her special gift of humor.
