Biography
Sister Agnes Eileen was born Eileen Nora O’Brien on May 20, 1915. She died on March 23, 2013. She was 97 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 79 years.
Sister Agnes Eileen entered the Congregation in August of 1933.
She ministered for 38 years as a teacher in elementary schools, including schools in Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, California and Missouri. In 1974, she began a ministry at the Lourdes Infirmary at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, and in 1976, she began the sisters’ first physical therapy department. She also ministered at Mother Theodore High School, River Grove, Ill., in supportive services for faculty and administration.
Sister Agnes Eileen was well known for her patience.
