Biography
Sister Eileen Ann was born Mary Clare Kelley on Aug. 14, 1926. She died on Oct. 13, 2012. She was 86 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 67 years.
Sister Eileen Ann entered the Congregation on July 22, 1945. She professed first and final vows on Jan. 23, 1948 and 1953, respectively.
For 26 years, Sister Eileen Ann ministered as teacher or school principal in schools in Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington, D.C. For 14 of those years, she was both principal and teacher. In 1976, she was elected Secretary General/General Councilor of the Congregation, a position she ministered in for 10 years. Following this, Sister Eileen Ann continued ministering as a principal in Maryland before returning to the Woods in 1991 to serve as Congregation Archivist for 14 years.
She had a deep love of sports and was a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
