Biography
Sister Diane Ris, formerly Sister Martin Therese, was born on July 16, 1932. She died on Feb. 21, 2013. She was 80 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 61 years.
Sister Diane entered the Congregation on July 21, 1951.
For 20 years, she ministered in primary grades in schools in Indiana and Illinois. She also ministered at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis and Morehead State University in Kentucky. In 1996, she was elected the General Superior of the Congregation.
As a student at Holy Trinity near Washington, D.C., Sister Diane received the Babe Ruth Award for her outstanding skills in softball.
