Biography
Sister Danielle was born on August 19, 1945, and is a native of Melrose, Massachusetts. Currently, she ministers as a driver in Brighton, Massachusetts. Prior to that, she ministered as a staff accountant for the Sisters of St. Joseph, in Brighton.
Sister Danielle, formerly Sister Mary Lou, entered the Congregation on August 30, 1967. She professed final vows on August 15, 1973. When she was growing up, she had an aunt who was a member of the Sisters of Providence who was influential in her decision to join.
She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, while also earning a master’s degree in administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Of her ministries, Sister Danielle served as a teacher from 1971 to 1980 in Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and Maryland. She has also ministered as part of the Leadership Team for the Congregation and was principal at St. Mary Star of the Sea School in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Sister Danielle said she enjoys “going to the zoo and the aquarium and I especially like the penguins. One of the gifts from my nieces and nephews for my Golden Jubilee was a trip to the Mystic CT Aquarium with a one-on-one with a penguin. We had a wonderful time. Such FUN!”
