Biography
Sister Cecilia was born Mary Ann Miller on Jan. 22, 1922. She died on June 3, 2013. She was 91 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 73 years.
Sister Cecilia entered the Congregation on Jan. 6, 1940.
Known for her musical talent, her first teaching ministry was at St. Francis Xavier, Wilmette, Ill., where she taught music. She also taught at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College from 1957 to 1968 and 1971 to 1977. She also taught at Precious Blood School in her native Jasper, Ind., from 1977 to 1988, before beginning a ministry of teaching special needs children in Louisville. She also ministered in Asia.
Sister Cecilia received her musical talent from her mother and father, who were both musicians.
