Biography
Sister Catherine was born Mary Catherine Qualters on March 13, 1930. She died on Jan. 22, 2005. She was 74 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 55 years.
Sister Catherine Marie entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1950. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1952 and 1957, respectively.
Her music education ministry began in 1952 at St. Benedict, St. Ann and St. Joseph in Terre Haute, Indiana. She taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois. From 1971 to 2004, she ministered at St. Anthony Parish and/or All Saints School, Indianapolis, as a teacher, liturgist, parish visitor and music minister.
Sister Catherine Marie was honored by the firefighters at Station 18, Indianapolis, the station where her father served.
