Biography
Sister Catherine, formerly Sister Agatha, was born Catherine Rose Livers on May 23, 1921. She died on Oct. 20, 2013. She was 92 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 76 years.
Sister Catherine entered the Congregation at the age of 16 in June 1937. She professed vows on Jan. 23, 1940.
For close to 30 years, she ministered in elementary schools in Indiana, Illinois, Maryland and North Carolina. Sister Catherine also ministered as a pastoral associate, a chaplain, a consultant, vicar for religious, retreat director and spiritual director in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and New York.
Sister Catherine was known for her creative candy making skills and especially loved making truffles.
